Wildolive = Food Cuteness

Okay, so I was browsing around etsy this evening looking for a Monther's day give and I stumbled upon one of the biggest piles of cuteness ever at Wildolive's shop! I have a soft spot for uber cute food, and have fallen in love with the buttons she designed! The best thing, is that each of the designs have fun little names, like scattered eggs and sodder cereal! There are others that aren't designed after food that are just as cute! Stop what you're doing right now and check these guys out! And while you're at it, stop over at her blog to see what's new and to download fun stuff like the fair weather friends printable weather chart...I have that bad boy hanging up at my desk at work ^_^

It's toasty in here!

Woohoo! I finished up my custom order for a toaster plushie, and I have to say, once again, i'm very happy with how it turned out! I got it on the first try! The slots in the top are actually crocheted pockets so that you can take the little toasts inside and out. I had to add the power cord too^_^
Who knew that toasters could be so huggable?

What's in a name?

Have you ever wondered how and why folks come up with their etsy shop names? MayRae is doing a cool little feature on her blog about that - Click here to check out her blog- and to see how I came up with the name Yummy Pancake(hint - it has to do with the picture above and only one other person, Andrea, would know about it) ^_^
And click here to check out MayRae's etsy store for crochet and knit goodies!

The 2nd Annual Softie Awards

The last day to enter the 2nd annual softie awards is today. The catagories are picnic food, embroidered to death, elephant tribute, pink or plaid, and cutest face. The enties are all so cute! There are so many talented plush artists out there! I, of course, entered some of my little guys - I think most of my entried fell into the picnic food category ^_^ Hop on over to the Softies Central Blog or look for the 2nd Annual Softie Awards on flickr to learn more about the contest and see some of the uber spectacular entries. My Wally the Watermelon was one of the entries featured today on the Softie Central Blog...woohoo!

Sew What!

Another custom order that I am uber pleased with. After a few sketches and a failed first attempt, I finally got the shape of this little guy right. I finished the sewing machine, and he just seemed so lonley, so I whipped up a friend for him....a spool of thread. I think I might make this one of my regular offerings, and maybe I'll even offer the amigurumi pattern ^_^
I think he needs a name...any suggestions?

Here Comes the Bride ^_^

I finished my submission for Etsy Hooker Contest Number 1. It had to be crochet (duh) and contain at least one flower and bead. Well, the first think that popped into my head was my wedding cake. I made a plushie inspired by our cake - it's not exact, but I used certain elements like the freedom red roses, and the beads of frosting on the sides of the layers. I have to say, i'm happy how it turned out. I may not be able to bake, but give me some yarn and a hook and I'll whip up a cake like nobody's business!

Introducing - The Mr Toastee Messenger Bag

Woohoo! I'm finally done, and it only took about a week to make(but it was the only project I was focusing on). This is done completely from a pattern idea from deep down inside my brain. I took notes so I can eventually transcribe them so other folks can make their own ^_^
I really wanted to line it with an uber cute breakfast fabric. I found one, but it was flannel so I wasn't sure how it would work, and it just didn't match as well as I would have liked. I did buy a yard though because it had pancakes and bacon on it, and I figured I could use it for something....as a matter of fact, it's the background in the photos of my bag! I ended up going for this really cute cotton fabric with cups of coffee on it, and little dots of coffee stains(I don't think you can really see that in the pics though).

I am totally going to enter this in the Ephrata fair this year....I smell a blue ribbon...oh wait, maybe I'm smelling toast ^_^

Mr. Toastee Scarf #2 - With Jelly ^_^

I finished up another custom order for a Mr. toastee Scarf....this time with Jelly as you can see on my giant pikachu model. What's next you ask? Well, i am now working on a Mr Toastee messenger bag for myself. Can you believe it! I'm actually making something for myself ^_^
