I Drink Your Milkshake

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I just couldn't resist! A little amigurumi chocolate milkshake with a felt mustache just like Daniel Plainfield. It makes me giggle. The stangest ideas tend to pop into my head ^_^

Shout out to my boy DDL

How could I forget! I just wanted to give a shout out to my boy DDL for winning the best actor Oscar last night. I can't wait to see There Will Be Blood ^_^

I think I just peed myself!

When I come home from my "grown-up" job, I typically relax, turn on my Sirius radio and listen to the Howard Stern replay in the evening as I crochet. Today, I laughed so hard it made it difficult to crochet and I just about wet myself! I'm not going to go into detail as it would probably take me all night to just set it up, but it had to do with Eric the Midget, Jimmy Kimmel and Kendra all being on at once and the hijinx that ensued. Then to top it all off, I learned that Kimmel made is own music video in response to the one Sarah Silverman made for him about having relations(I'm being clean and PC here ^_^) with Matt Damon, about having relations himself with Ben Affleck(did I spell that right). You really need to look up these puppies on YouTube!!! Ben's video featured not only Matt Damon, but Brad pitt, Harrison Ford, Robin Williams, Huey Lewis, Camron Diaz, Blink 182, that hobbit guy who plays Charlie on Lost, and a ton of other stars that I just can't think of right now. The best part was Josh Groban singing that song - I'm not a fan but I have a whole new level of respect for that guy since he obviously has a sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously! It was totally like that "We are the world" music video from the 80's. Absolutely Brilliant! you need to look this up on YouTube. I tried to post it here, but I am a bit technologically illiterate ^_^

There is nothing so goober-like than sitting at home while your husband is at work laughing so hard out loud to the point where you might wet yourself. I think the zombies in my attic even heard me, and their hearing isn't that great!

All this talk about pee made me think of this uber awesome button on etsy (see pic at the beginning of this post) made by incraftwetrust. They also have it available in a button. If you haven't checked out there etsy shop before, I suggest you stop by! I heart witty pins - I'm going to have to get myself one for my work tote!

Mr. Toastee Scarf

I came up with my Mr. Toastee character last month and have been very happy with his popularity. I had a custom order request for a Mr. Toastee scarf, and finally had a chance to jump on it this weekend. I heart custom orders - my little scrambled brain can only come up with so many ideas ^_^ Well, I was on a roll and got it done. I am so happy with how it turned out too! I think I might have to make one up for myself to help keep me "Toastee" this winter.

I wonder if I should make this scarf part of my regular offerings....

Uber Easy Amigurumi Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pattern

Today is such a great day! My house is filled with the scent of the delicious pork roast that I have cooking in the oven, I have been working on custom orders, and I can rest easy as I saw on yahoo news that Brittany Spears is going to be allowed to see her kids.

When I started this blog in January, I was planning to share my original crochet pattern for the chcocolate covered strawberry before valentines day....obviously, that did not happen. Beter late than never. Here you go - straight from the depths of my brain to my blog:

Materials:

Red and Green yarn
size G crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Poly-fil
Brown fabric paint(make sure it has a shiny finish when dry)

With Red yarn:
Round 1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second chain from hook (5)
Round 2: 1 sc in each st (5)
Round 3: 2 sc in each st (10)
Round 4: 1 sc in each st (10)
Round 5: 1 sc in each st (10)
Round 6: *Dec across 2 st. Repeat from * around (5)

At this point, stuff a tiny bit of polyfil in the strawberry.

With Green yarn:
Round 7: 2 sc in each st(10)
finish off

Now, using the brown fabric paint, cover the end of the strawberry and let dry. Attach a magnet or pinback and you are good to go!

Let's try this again

Okay, so one of my New Year's Resolutions was to start a blog and to keep up with it. Well, this year has been a humdinger for me thus far, but now I'm back and ready to try this thing. So far this year, I have :

1. had my identity stolen, my yahoo e-mail and my student loan account hacked into(they probably saw how much I owed and figured they weren't getting much out of me ^_^).
2. Spent some time in the hospital for abdominal pain that they thought was my appendix, but since the CAT scan didn't show anything, and my WBC count went back to normal, they discharged me.
3. Still having pain/discomfort in my lower right tummy, and have been poked and prodded a number of times, and have had uber tests done since my doctor is still convinced that my appendix is infected. He tells me it could get bad again in a day, week, month....great. Good news is that I met my insurance deductable with the emergency room and hospital visit, so my doctor visits are on the house ^_^
4. My G-pa Fed passed away...man, am I going to miss him! He always had the best stories!

So, that is my 2008 in a nutshell thus far. My intension for this blog was to share uber fun stuff, my new creations, and some of my patterns as well....so just check back and see what kinds of uber phun that I have cooked up ^_^

Oh yeah, I have a spelling deficency and I refuse to use spellcheck. There wil be spelling errors ^_^
